Ph.D. student

Naida Softic is a Ph.D. student in Political Science at Ó£»¨ÊÓƵ, where she researches international organizations, their institutional design, the international law governing them, and their role in global governance, with a focus on migration and humanitarian policy. Her work examines decision-making in international bureaucracies, with a focus on ethics and accountability, and explores how these decisions shape the rule of law in global governance. She is particularly interested in translating academic insights into policy solutions on migration management and socio-legal development, and in assessing how international organizations adapt to future challenges. Before coming to the United States as a Fulbright scholar, she obtained a law degree from the University of Sarajevo and worked with intergovernmental organizations such as the European Union, United Nations, International Organization for Migration, USAID, and the Danish Refugee Council on projects aimed at strengthening governance frameworks, addressing migration challenges, and promoting rule of law, institutional accountability, and rights-based approaches in complex humanitarian settings.
